Statement

I have enclosed 11 pieces of work, which have been extracted from my fashion projects and fine art projects. My colony dress was the result of me experimenting with a theme of tribal and earth inspired elements, along with this i have my various sketchbook pages documenting my progression and ideas which lead up to this piece being created. The fashion photography elements involved me wearing a piece that i had customised by tearing off the sleeves, sewing on the leather shoulder patches and adding studs/spikes.
The other photography work included is my George mush photoshoot, which was part of my fine art project, the initial purpose of the photoshoot was to give a politician a satirical twist, and to celebrate celebrity culture. An example of my drawing is also included, depicting celebrity potraiture.

To me,fashion that has been nutured by individuality is what i strive for, and without a doubt i want to take my interest further into degree level, and the Manchester Metropolitan university is where i want to pursue this ambition.

Colony dress development stages

Textile sampling for the colony dress project, looking at the possible types of materials, which would be combined to create a garment which would have essences of a wild nature, with the added white texture to have a touch of sophistication.

Fashion piece 1 - Colony inspired garment

Colony inspired garment, the end result had a balance of white natural material with bold manipulated hair exstensions, turned into brooch like decoration.
